DOLOMITI SKI JAZZ
09/03/2019 - 16/03/2019
The listening experience is the most unusual and stimulating, that you can live it with your skis on your feet or relax on the panoramic terraces of the most famous mountain refuges in the Dolomites:
with the Dolomiti Ski Jazz the music comes out of the theaters and reaches the ski slopes, creating an interweaving of nature, winter sports and sound emotions, from 9 to 16 March throughout the Val di Fiemme. Famous artists such as Gege Telesforo, Javier Girotto, Francesco Bearzatti and Scott Hamilton will be co-stars of the festival along with the most evocative views of the snow-covered Dolomites.
Every day at lunchtime, the Dolomiti Ski Jazz rises at high altitude. In the summit concerts (all with free admission), jazz will take on a thousand nuances, as in a slalom between musical styles: the sounds of New Orleans with the Tiger Dixie Band; the organ grooves of the quartet by Alberto Marsico and the trio of Marco Castelli; the ethnic rhythms of Kora Beat; the soul and rhythm and blues of the American singer Shanna Waterstown; the swinging songs by Francesca Bertazzo Hart and Eva Eminger.
At sunset the Dolomiti Ski Jazz descends to the valley and sits in the theater. Even without the sporty ski suit, the music continues to be dynamic and engaging, in balance between art and entertainment: with the quintet of the vocalist, as well as the famous radio-television host, Gege Telesforo; the French pianist Christian Sauvage; i Barionda, training with four notable soloists all in the baritone sax (Javier Girotto, Florian Bramböck, Helga Plankensteiner and Giorgio Beberi); the trio of Michele Polga; the American saxophonist Scott Hamilton, an absolute reference when it comes to modern swing; the Hardrada Quartet; the Tinissima Quartet by saxophonist Francesco Bearzatti.
